Abril sufre de asma, y en ocasiones debe ser internada en el Instituto de pediatría en la CDMX. La señora saca para los pasajes cantando, al día tiene un ingreso de $100 aproximadamente para comprar para la comida. La abuelita tiene 79 años y se encuentra al cuidado de la mamá de Abril. La casa en donde viven es prestada por un hermano de la señora, cocina en leña, compra ropa en bazar, la mamá aparte canta en rosarios en el panteón de la paz, sus ingresos son variables, Abril se encuentra en la estudiantina de la iglesia, a pesar de sus dificultades ella se esfuerza por ser buena estudiante y tener buenas calificaciones.
